Anti-Ragging Cell: Upholding Justice & Human Dignity

Our Commitment

At DBHP Sabha’s Shri P. V. Joshi Law College, Dharwad, we believe that legal education begins with respect for the dignity of every individual. We are committed to a “Zero Tolerance” policy toward ragging in any form. Our Anti-Ragging Cell ensures that the campus remains a sanctuary for learning, growth, and professional development, free from fear, harassment, or intimidation.

Significance of the Cell

Legal & Ethical Integrity: As future custodians of the law, our students are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct. The cell reinforces the values of equality, non-discrimination, and empathy.

Creating a Safe Haven: We foster an environment where freshers can transition into their legal studies with confidence and security, ensuring their focus remains entirely on academic and professional excellence.

Regulatory Compliance: The cell operates in strict accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, the Bar Council of India (BCI) guidelines, and directives from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

Prevention: To proactively identify potential zones of conflict and implement preventive measures.

Awareness: To sensitize the student community through orientation programs, seminars, and workshops about the legal, social, and psychological consequences of ragging.

Redressal: To provide a confidential, impartial, and swift mechanism for reporting and resolving grievances.

Surveillance: To monitor campus premises (including library, canteen, and hostels) to ensure a disciplined and conducive environment.

Physical Abuse: Stripping, forcing obscene acts, or causing bodily harm.

Verbal/Psychological Abuse: Derogatory language, name-shaming, or harassment based on religion, caste, sex, or appearance.

Digital Abuse: Harassment or defamation via social media, email, or other online platforms.

Undue Control: Forcing students to perform tasks for the benefit of seniors.

Students, faculty, or staff can report incidents of ragging through any of the following channels:
