The Library Advisory Committee provides strategic guidance for the development of the Library and Knowledge Resource Center. The committee supports the enhancement of legal information resources, digital services, research support, and innovative learning initiatives. By aligning library services with academic and institutional goals, it ensures that the library remains a dynamic center for legal education, research excellence, and knowledge advancement.
About Sri P V Joshi LAW Library
The Shri P. V. Joshi Library serves as a comprehensive academic knowledge centre, catering to the educational and research needs of law students. It houses a rich collection of books, journals, periodicals, textbooks, and reference materials covering a wide range of national and international legal subjects.
The library supports both major and minor courses through well-curated learning resources and provides 24/7 access to digital resources and online library services within the campus, ensuring uninterrupted learning and research.
The primary objective of the library is to promote academic excellence, encourage a culture of reading, and foster research-oriented thinking among future legal professionals.
In addition, the library subscribes to a variety of newspapers, magazines, and current affairs resources, enabling students to stay updated on contemporary legal developments, public policy, and emerging issues in law and society.

Library timings
The Shri P. V. Joshi Library remains open throughout the year, except on designated holidays. Please refer to the following library schedule:

Note: During vacation periods, the library timings may vary. Students are advised to refer to the Library Notice Board or check their student email for official updates and announcements regarding any changes.

Library Membership and Circulation
I. Library Membership and Loan Period
The Library and Knowledge Resource Center provides membership to all students, faculty members, and visiting/adjunct faculty of Shri P. V. Joshi Law College, offering access to academic, legal, and digital resources.
Entitlement for Borrowing Books

II. Rules for Borrowing Books
- Books will be issued only on presentation of a valid Institute ID Card.
- No borrowing transaction will be processed without a valid Student ID Card.
- The Student ID Card is non-transferable and must be used only by the cardholder.
- Do not write, underline, or highlight in library books. Mutilation or damage to library materials is strictly prohibited.
- Students may borrow 2 books for a period of 15 days.
- Books must be returned or renewed on or before the due date.
- Renewal is subject to the availability of the book and cannot be granted if it has been reserved by another user.
- A fine of ₹10 per day per book will be charged for overdue books.
- In the event of the loss of a book, the borrower must either:
- Replace the book with the same title and latest edition, or
- Pay double the cost of the lost book.
- Borrowers should check books for missing pages or chapters before borrowing.
- Damaged books will not be accepted on return. Borrowers must replace any damaged library materials.
- Loss of the Student ID Card must be reported immediately to the Management. Borrowers are responsible for any misuse of lost or duplicate ID cards.
- If a book or periodical is damaged or lost, the borrower must replace it or pay double the cost.
- In the case of a multi-volume set, the cost of the entire set may be charged if individual volumes are not available separately.
- Maintain silence and discipline inside the library at all times.
- Eating, sleeping, or disturbing other users is strictly prohibited.
- Mobile phones must be kept on silent mode within the library.
- Proper dress code must be followed while using the library.
- Library materials must be handled carefully and returned in good condition.
- Any violation of the library rules and regulations may lead to the suspension or cancellation of library membership.

Access and Usage Guidelines for Electronic Resources
Username and Password Allocation
The username and password required to access the institution’s electronic resources are provided exclusively to authorized users—those affiliated with our college, including students, scholars, and academic staff members.
Ownership of Credentials
The username and password issued for accessing electronic resources remain the property of Shri P. V. Joshi Law College.
User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for any activities carried out under their username and password. The theft or misuse of login details is a serious matter. If you believe your login information has been stolen or misused, it is mandatory to report it immediately to the Librarian.
Log-off Requirement
Users must log off immediately after completing their session, whether using a private device or a shared terminal. This ensures the security of your account and protects the institution’s resources.
Academic Use Only
The remote resources are licensed solely for academic purposes, such as teaching, learning, and research. Commercial use is strictly prohibited. Users must also provide appropriate copyright attribution when utilizing articles or documents from these resources.
Device Limitation
Users are permitted to log in from only one device at a time. This includes laptops, mobile phones, or tablets. Logging in from multiple devices simultaneously is not allowed.
Do’s
- Save parts of the resources (e.g., journal articles) electronically for personal use.
- Print a single copy of journal articles or other resources.
- Distribute single copies of resources (in print or electronic format) to other authorized users within the institution.
- Copy and paste material from resources into teaching materials or coursework, provided proper source acknowledgment is given.
